Etihad Airways will increase capacity and services to Melbourne, Australia with the addition of a second daily flight from its Abu Dhabi hub. Effective 02 August 2015, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will add a Boeing 777-300ER configured in three classes on the Abu Dhabi – Melbourne segment. This flight will complement Etihad’s existing daily service, also operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.
The new flight will also be offered in code-share with ALITALIA, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, Air Serbia, Air Berlin, Aer Lingus and Air Seychelles. The flights are designed to provide connectivity to Etihad’s European, Middle East/African services from Abu Dhabi including those of “Etihad Partner” alliance group of airlines.
Etihad is set to introduce its flagship A380 aircraft to Sydney from 01 June 2015 as well as new non-stop 787-9 Dreamliner services to Brisbane also from 01 June 2015. Etihad also offers daily non-st0p service to Perth thereby offering service to four Australian stations.
