ALITALIA adds flights to Cuba

ALITALIA is set to resume flights to Cuba. Italy’s flag carrier will add twice weekly services to Havana from its Rome Fiumicino hub using three-class Boeing 777-200ERs. Subject to regulatory approvals, flights are set to commence on 01 December 2016.

Since Etihad Airways invested with a 49% stake in the Italian carrier, ALITALIA has focused on on expanding its long haul fleet and network. The carrier has recently added services to Beijing, Seoul Incheon, Mexico City and Santiago de Chile.

Boeing 777-300ERs are expected to join the fleet in 2017 to be sourced from Etihad Airways or Jet Airways. Services to San Francisco and Johannesburg are planned for next year. Flights to Melbourne or Sydney Australia are also on the horizon to allow expansion for Etihad in the Australian market.
