The first QANTAS A380 service to operate as a three class service without First Class will commence tomorrow 11 Oct 2014 on the Sydney – Hong Kong QF127 flight. The carrier flagged plans earlier this year that flights from Sydney to Hong Kong would no longer offer a First Class service. First Class service ended at the end of September. The carrier now operates 747s on this sector and tomorrow’s flight is a one off until regular A380 service re-commences during the peak period of 11 December through to 26 January.
The good news is that the actual First Class cabin, located in the forward cabin main deck (rows 1 to 5) on the A380 Hong Kong flights will be made available to QANTAS’ top tier frequent flyers. The service will be of Business Class standard with the hard product being the First Suite. There is no fare surcharge for this and is available at prevailing Business Class fares. All other A380 services to Dallas, Los Angeles, Dubai and London from Sydney and Melbourne will continue to offer First Class.
